I totally want to go fishing in Japan after watching this music video. Because this video is exactly what fishing in Japan is like.
Also, I submit the guy at the end of the video as evidence that everyone wishes they had hair as cool as mine.

Senator Barack Obama gave a speech in Philadelphia today on the topic of race. I happen to think it's one of the best speeches I've ever heard from a politician. Certainly when it comes to talking about race. If you haven't seen it, check it out. You can see the youtube video and read the text of the speech here.

|
( Tracklist ) First mix I've made in quite a while. Need to listen to it again see how it feels, put it together in a rush so I'd have one to give to people. Lack of sleep for bonus points! XD
EDIT: Oh crap I think there may be space between the tracks! That should not have happened. Fail.

Last night was a blast. Eggplant 500, eggplant fire, can jenga II, playground, the many amazing noises of Geoff's crotch, flash videos, some CD decoration, snatch...Overall evaluation: awesome! 5 stars.
Today has involved sleep, hanging out with my sister, and a little shopping. Got me some sharpies XD, some random school supply stuffs, DVD+Rs, and a Royksopp CD. Yahoo.
For those who got a CD from me yesterday: ( Tracklist ) Also, ( Only this Moment )

So I'm going to the VNV Nation concert on Thursday, and I'm looking for people to travel with (I can provide a ride if necessary) in accordance with parental requests. So if anyone in the Springfield area wants/needs a ride, let me know.

Mmmm...today was good. Made CDs, went to TJ and gave them to people during lunch. Proceeded to pick sister up from school. Rather than going straight home we got food at a Wendy's. Yum. Then dropped her at home, and went back to TJ for that magical time known as 8th period. Went to Toastmasters for the first time since graduating. After school antics. People. Went by home for a bit with Chris, then ferried him over to Kathleen's shindig. Made some more CDs while there. There were people and fun things and yay.
I like hugs.
And I likes da musics. I likes da musics a lot.
Speaking of music, tracklists!
For the people I gave copies of the mix I made during winter break: ( Tracklist! )
For the more recent mix I gave out today: ( Tracklist! )
And for Kathleen: ( Tracklist! )
Was somewhat saddened by lack of dancing tonight. And still saddened by failure to see certain people (again). But despite this, life is good overall. There will be dancing in the future, and there will be people someday too.
Tomorrow/Sunday will see me doing way too much work, though. Sigh.

...by a doggy...
Mmm...I liked today. Was up rather early, making CDs to give to people. Made 22 copies or so, and then proceeded to make them pretty colors and such. Didn't have time to post a tracklist, though. So for all the people I gave copies to: ( Tracklist! ) It kinda turned into a challenge, trying to see what kind of mix I make using only tracks under 4 minutes in length. I hope you guys like it. And if there's anyone who wants a copy that I didn't give one to, let me know and I'll make you one. Although I can't say for sure when you'll get it since I'm kind of leaving for to return to college land tomorrow. Same flight as jgrafton, apparently.
Anyways, I would have made more if I hadn't had to rush off to an appointment with my dentist. But my dentist is a nifty guy, so it wasn't so bad. And there's nothing wrong with my teeth, so he's not going to strangle me. Except I don't think he makes that threat anymore, 'cause I got too big. Although apparently if I get a cavity he's going to come up to CMU to put his foot in my ass. The question is: how will he know? The answer? Dentist-sense: the sixth sense dentists have that tells them when a patient has a cavity. All that poking around your mouth is just for show. And to plant tiny explosives.
Once that was done with I journeyed far away (a two minute walk) to the land of TJ; often spoken of in legend and myth, but rarely visited by mortal man. Upon entering, I was made to mark myself with a seal, which would grant me safe passage through the lands of TJ. Not that there is much to fear there, as the guards are usually rather slack about returning guests such as I.
And there were many people and much rejoicing and I handed out my CDs and yay and happy and I <3 you guys.
There were also adventures in shopping, in that 'I bought two volumes of Hellsing' kind of way. Still need to find number three. Ohhhhhh number three. (It's been easy so far...) The question is, where will I find it, and who got that reference?
Then I went back to TJ, like the lifeless sack of loserface I obviously am. I need to find more things to do with myself. But I won't, 'cause I like visiting TJ. I chatted with Fujita Sen'sei some, and saw people, and got to see the cherry tree & plaque (and listen to Lodal talk...how the hell can you butcher Japanese that badly? It's like she didn't even try--no, it's like she came up with the stupidest, most blatantly innaccurate pronounciation she could and used it. Also, embarrassingly low bows. Somewhat amusing, but != class) and opened sparkling cider with the multitool I definately didn't have on school propertylalala. And it was good (Aside from Lodal).
Ran into other alums while at TJ. There was a Rosie! And Jeff (R) and a Jeff (Grafton) and a Keith and a other alums and...
B Block spent in drama hall, as people were avoiding a pep rally affair there. Chatted with people for a while, went by booth for a while after school, chatted more, left.
And now I'm back home, and should probably start packing. Just a little. Could've used another week, really. 'Cause there's some stuff I wanted to do and people I wanted to spend time with and that hasn't happened yet. And I'd've been able to see Lear without having to figure out how I'm getting back down here.

Some stories:
'A science teacher was telling her ninth grade students about how Mars and Venus are sometimes visible in the night sky. One of the students asked if you ever see earth in the sky as well.'
'I worked for a computer repair company. We sold a monitor to a customer, who called us a few hours later, very upset. He complained that the monitor we had sold him was defective. After about ten minutes on the phone with him, I determined that he had the screen part of the monitor face down on the desk. He was staring at the base and wondering why it wasn't working. He hung up rather sheepishly after this was explained to him.'
'Cigarette packets in the UK feature huge health warnings that take up about two-thirds of the front of the packet. These bear messages such as "Smoking Kills" and "Smoking seriously harms you and others around you." A colleague of mine was queuing in a store behind a woman who was buying a packet of cigarettes. On seeing the packet that the storekeeper was handing her, she said, "Oh no, don't give me the "Smoking Kills" packet. Give me the "Smoking harms your fertility," 'cos I've already got two kids."'
'I work in an electric propulsion lab that contains several vacuum chambers for testing propulsion devices in a space-like environment. During a routine safety check, the safety officer was VERY concerned about the dangers of "vacuum leaking out into the lab."'
'I have a part-time job as a tech support. I was explaining to a caller that she should right-click on the image, and select COPY. When she asked me if I was referring to MY right, or HER right, I hung up.'
'My birthday falls on September 13th, which means that once every so often I have a Friday 13th birthday. While on the phone to my friend discussing my birthday plans she asked if I was superstitious about the date. I replied that no, I had had birthday's on Friday 13th before and wasn't worried about it. To which she responded "I wonder if my birthday will ever be on Friday 13th?" Not likely, since her birthday is May 2nd.'
Some quotes: "Just because he's our landlord doesn't mean he owns the place."
"We want this to be effective with a capital A!"
"We have to go back and look at each other in the mirror."
"She used enough Scotch Tape to feed a third world country."
"What part of 'no' don't you understand? Is it the 'N', or the 'Zero'?" (Must be too much 1337 exposure...)
